Environmental Approach
Life Cycle Assessment or LCA

LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) is a technique to quantitatively assess environmental impacts on the earth and ecosystem at all stages of the product life cycle from resource extraction, manufacturing, usage, recycling through to disposal and transportation.
Based on the results assessed with this technique, we aim to reduce environmental impacts on products.

The following graph is an example of CO2 emissions from POS terminals. The emissions at the usage stage make up approximately 80% of the total.
This shows reduction in electricity consumption significantly contributes to the reduction in CO2 emissions (environmental impacts).

By continuously conserving raw material resources along with reducing electricity consumption, we strive to develop products with lower environmental impacts.
